I had a belt altered today at a reasonable price. The shop owner shared some valuable advice based on his experience with belt alterations. Overall, I found the service to be much better than some of the negative comments had suggested.

Old man can give ridiculous pricing for simple alteration. I just overheard customers telling him that their clothes are much cheaper than his alteration charges. For me I went to his shop to repair the zipper of the queen-sized mattress cover, and guess how much he charged? A whooping $138!!!!! My advise is do not go to this shop even if this is the last shop in Singapore left. Unless you want to hear ridiculous charges that can give you a heart attack.

I needed a leather belt alteration to be done, however i went to 2 other alteration/tailor shops and they both it was a difficult task and they couldn’t do it. I needed this to be done in 2 days, and i hesitantly visited this shop after reading all the bad reviews. But to my surprise, the uncle was really nice and had a good look at my leather belt and after a quick discussion he said he could do it, within 1 day. I got the belt back and it fitted perfectly, and it also looked brand new.

My son went to get his baju kurung top sleeves n winter coat sleeves altered and it cost him $106! The total cost price of these items cost less than $100. Preposterous! We returned to the shop together and demanded a full refund. Luckily the items were not altered yet. I brought my son to my regular tailor and it cost him only $21. I also had a bad experience from this shop a few months back. After alteration I couldn't fit into one of my clothes. The rest were poorly altered. I had to spend a bit more to have it altered with another tailor who did a wonderful job and now is my go to for any alterations. She is professional and her rates are reasonable. Avoid this shop at all cost. Enough is enough. Do business with integrity please. I've read reviews claiming they have had good experiences with these shop and wondering why there were many bad reviews. So many people cannot be wrong. Why risk your precious clothing at the hands of amateurs?

Contrary to previous negative posts, I got my sling-bag strap altered quickly and the price is reasonable. Uncle and auntie are also very friendly, even helped to sew additional so that my strap won’t spoil so easily through fractions. Will go back to them again soon to alter my jeans :)
