Tiong Bahru Fried Fish Ball at Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre represents the continuation of a legendary Singapore food legacy, bringing over six decades of traditional fish ball craftsmanship to the northern communities from their stall at #01-18 since the brand's establishment in 1962. Founded by Mr. Loh with an unwavering commitment to making the finest fish balls through sheer dedication, this establishment has expanded from its original Tiong Bahru location to serve customers across Singapore for over 20 years, ensuring that authentic, handcrafted fish balls and traditional fried snacks remain accessible to new generations who appreciate genuine hawker traditions and nostalgic old-school flavors that connect them with Singapore's culinary heritage.
The stall specializes in premium fish balls made exclusively from the freshest Ikan Parang (Wolf Herring fish), maintaining their founder's strict standards by using 100% fish meat with zero flour added, ensuring customers receive pure, high-quality fish products in every bite without artificial fillers or preservatives. Their comprehensive menu features beloved options including Fish Meat Ball at .50 for 4 pieces, White Fish Cake for .50, and their iconic Fried Fish Ball at .50 for 6 pieces, alongside various traditional fried nibbles that provide exceptional value while preserving authentic flavors and textures that distinguish genuine hawker craftsmanship from mass-produced alternatives commonly found elsewhere in Singapore's food landscape.
Located within the vibrant atmosphere of Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre, this establishment took over from the previous Macpherson BCM location, demonstrating the dynamic nature of Singapore's hawker scene while maintaining continuity of traditional food preparation methods. The stall continues the Tiong Bahru Fish Ball legacy of providing affordable, authentic snacks that evoke childhood memories and satisfy contemporary cravings for genuine hawker flavors, ensuring that time-honored recipes and preparation techniques developed over generations remain an integral part of Singapore's culinary landscape for both nostalgic regulars and curious newcomers discovering these classic treats for the first time.
Boycotted this stall ever since they increased the price from $1.20 to $1.50, a whopping 25% increase! Hope they realise they are gonna lose many of their customers from their crazy price increase.

Must count the number of pieces you bought. The lady gave less fish cakes and only found out reaching home. Cheater

I bought 6 bells of fried ingredients, including Otar, small fish balls, large fish balls, shrimp dates, fish cakes and fried wontons. The first bite I took was the small fish balls. The texture was relatively soft and I thought it was pretty good. The big fish balls and shrimp dates are also good. Otar is weird and tastes sour. The most unacceptable thing is that I was given fried wontons that were soft, soft and undercooked. It was really a big discount. Cooked food is undercooked. This is the worst mistake you should make. I really don’t have the confidence to come back again, lest I eat half-cooked fried food again.

Very poor taste. Has to be one of the worst fish ball I ever eaten. Owner , seller was very rude and has attitude problem . Will not recommend it to anybody. I can make do with poor taste but not poor attitude like the owner/seller

Fried Otar is quite nice. Fish ball will be nicer if lesser spongy. Wanton is normal. Make them all Hotter instead of warm will be better.

Missy say give 5 stars, because old Chang kee sell 3 for SGD 1.90, here is 6 for $1.50. And the taste is equivalent. What else can I say? Cheaper with same quality always win, unless you can find a cheaper place without degrade in quality…

I did not know that there is a branch of Tiong Bahru Fried Fishball at Marsiling Mall until I chanced upon it while on my way to patronise Joy Pan Authentic Yam Abacus on 29th November 2023 before its intended closure on 30th November 2023. There are many varieties of fishball and fishcake but not as authentic as before when I used to eat it every week at Tiong Bahru Market when I was a child. Nevertheless, it was nice to know that there are many branches of the fishball/fishcake branch all over Singapore now. I most enjoyed the otah fishcake. Before I chanced upon it at Marsiling Mall, I only know of its existence in Tiong Bahru Market and Hawker Centre and Bendemeer Market and Hawker Centre.

Not bad as a snack, but dont know why other ppl gave it one star. Fish taste can be stronger but oil seems clean and food is fresh.
